"Swaying in the Treetops" Book Signing

This is just a quick update to let everyone know about our upcoming book signing for Swaying in the Treetops this Saturday. We would love to see any of you there (we always have this new author’s fear that it will only be us the whole day ðŸ˜€).
We will have books for sale, and we will also be happy to sign your already purchased book if you bring it along. (It’s still weird to us that anyone wants us to sign their book, but apparently that’s how this world of writing-a-book works.)
Hope to see you! Please feel free to share. Details are as follows:

Happy Birthday, Sweet Kathryn

My beautiful Kathryn, celebrating her 12th birthday last month. It was a good day back in summer of 2004 when God broke my (Kathy's) heart enough that I finally surrendered and said "yes" to this daughter's adoption in spite my very great fear of her many, many disabilities. What indescribable joy He had waiting for me on the other side of that decision.

Kathryn's is one of several stories you will read in "Swaying In the Treetops: A True Story of Faith and the Fatherless."

Amazon Lowers Price Again

Amazon has Swaying in the Treetops listed at their lowest price ever right now — and it's still Prime! Check it out. If you don't yet have your copy, now would be a good time to grab it. This price is even lower than we are able to offer at our book signings. You can see that at this link on Amazon.

Book Signings

We were so blessed to be able to take an awesome trip to Tampa, FL last week where we did some speaking and a couple of book signings. Why would we be going all the way from Cincinnati, OH, to Tampa, FL, for book signings? If you've already read the book, then you know that our story actually begins with a tragedy in Tampa Bay. It all started there. We were so honored to have been welcomed at Family Christian book store in Lakeland, FL, for our first book signing. They told us that this was the most successful book signing they've had in a really long time. We met some great people that day. Thank you, Family Christian for this opportunity.

Our table all set up and ready for our first book signing
The two of us with Ginnette, the manager of the Lakeland, FL Family Christian

Over and over again, we keep being told that readers, "can't stop reading," or "can't put the book down." The manager asked us to leave some books behind for them to put on their shelves, so Family Christian in Lakeland, FL, has now become the first book store anywhere to sell our book in store (as far as we know.)

Something pretty exciting about seeing our book on a shelf in a book store!
We will be setting up some book signings closer to home here in the Cincinnati area. We'll post updates about those here when we know more.

Some Unexpected and Tough News

Our family got some bad news this week. You can follow that story at this link, "And Sometimes the Little Things Are Big Things.". It looks like our second book will be a little different now than we have been picturing. The same God who carried us through every adventure in our first book, "Swaying in the Treetops," will carry us through this unexpected (for us) bend in the road now. We would cherish your prayers as we begin this new piece of our journey.

Reviews are Coming In

The reviews are coming in on Amazon for "Swaying In the Treetops." They are all 5-stars, so far. If you're still trying to decide about reading this book, take a look at the reviews here on Amazon.

Here's a sample:

Swaying in the Treetops is the true story of one family’s decision to live according to God’s calling; to rescue orphans from hopelessness, and in some cases certain death, and provide a home where they can thrive in safety and experience the love of God in tangible ways. In doing so, the Rosenows are learning to trust God’s love, his provision, and his plan. Here they offer us a glimpse of what that looks like so that we might be encouraged in our own callings.

This is not a book about adoption, although adoption figures prominently in it. It is not a primer on practical theology, but it will show how theology informs our practice. No instructions are offered to show us proper Christian living, but there are lessons to be learned. Although it’s not a novel, its narrative is just as engaging and riveting as any bestselling work of fiction in stores now. The writing style offers great readability that is a hallmark of lighter fare. But make no mistake, there is a weightiness that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
